Woman Crush Wednesday: My Womanly Role Models

In the spirit of #WCW I thought I would do a post on my female role models. This could be a long one as I have a butt ton of lady loves. Let's start out with a bang: JLAW

Jennifer Lawrence is a babe. She's gorgeous, charming, and witty. I find myself wishing we could be BFFLs so that maybe I could be cool. In all honesty the first time I saw her in a magazine I went all "OMG she's way prettier than me I so totally hate her" mode and didn't even give poor JLaw a chance to defend herself. Don't worry friends I later fell in love after multiple late night talk show interviews and the premiere of Hunger Games. And ever since then I've been smitten. I do have to say that I liked her a bit more in Silver Linings Playbook than the Hunger Games, but she was phenomenal in both obviously I mean she's JLaw. I think that she is so fresh and unique in comparison to the blonde bimbos the are raiding Hollywood. I think that she is a great example for us teen girls as she isn't afraid to say what she thinks and isn't stick thin, but a healthy woman with curves. She's sassy, yet sweet all at the same time. Her acting is the best I have seen in a long time. And I personally liked the Meryl Streep "jab". I wouldn't even consider it a jab as it was playful and humorous. Seriously you need to Youtube Jennifer Lawrence and I guarantee after the first interview you will include her in your next WCW.

Keeping along with my obvious theme of funny women next up is dun dun dun TINA FEY! I'm going to try and keep this shorter than JLaws paragraph of recognition, but that probably won't happen as Tina Fey is a boss as well. Fey is best known for her appearances on SNL. More specifically her appearance on SNL as Sarah Palin. I myself am not politically involved at all but she's still laugh out loud hilarious to me. I read her book Bossypants cover to cover twice and have seen her latest movie Admission twice in theatres. So you could say I kind of love her. She's another breath of fresh air, but a bit more reserved than a lot of comedians. She's what I like to say soft, subtle, and powerful. She packs a punch in her book, knowing all the right things to say. In other films of hers such as Date Night, Mean Girls, and Baby Mama she plays characters that offer a laugh as well as a bow down. She's simply wonderful.

My last favorite female of the moment is Talia Joy. If you are unfamiliar with who Talia then you wouldn't know she had a long, hard battle with cancer that she lost to just yesterday. Talia was only thirteen years old, but accomplished more than most of us by the time we are thirty. She is a huge inspiration of mine as she managed to put a smile on others faces through her Youtube videos when she was challenged with such a cruel thing as cancer. A few of my family members have and are battling cancer so I understand what a terrible toll it can take on a person. Talia like my family members still made me have hope for the future and count my blessings everyday. I hope one day I can accomplish at least half of the things Talia did because what she did was simply amazing. I hope her legacy lives on forever because she is iconic. I pray for her family and the dreams Talia didn't get to complete such as a makeup and clothing line. Talia will always be in my heart even though I didn't personally know her, but I do know that she loved me and everyone of her supporters. Thank you Talia. RIP.
